How we clean gutters

A gutter cleaning here means the same five steps on every job. We don’t blow debris onto the roof and call it done.

1. Flush every downspout

   Each downspout is flushed from the top until it runs clear. A blocked downspout is the most common cause of overflow.

2. Check the seams and slope

   We check every seam and make sure the slope (not pitch) is correct. Water should run toward the downspout, not pool in the middle.

3. Remove and bag all debris

   Leaves, shingle grit, seed pods and pine needles are bagged and taken off the property. Nothing gets blown onto the lawn or driveway.

4. Free gutter inspection

   Every cleaning includes a free inspection of the gutter system. If we see something that needs attention, we let you know before we leave.

5. Same-day quote if needed

   If guards or repairs are needed, we quote on the same visit, usually within a couple hours in writing.

How often should you clean gutters here?

In the northwest suburbs, with the mature tree coverage in towns like Barrington, Palatine and Hoffman Estates, most homes need cleaning twice a year: once in late spring after the seeds fall, and once in late fall after the leaves drop. Homes with heavy pine tree coverage often need a third cleaning.
